About the program 

The SJTU School of Medicine Scholarships 2026 are part of the Chinese Government Scholarship-University Graduate Program for international (non-Chinese) students pursuing Master’s or Doctoral degrees at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. These fully funded scholarships cover tuition, on-campus housing, a monthly stipend, and medical insurance. The program is highly competitive, offering world-class resources to support medical research and education.

Eligibility criteria 

  • Be a non-Chinese citizen in good health.
  • Must not be studying in China.
  • For a Master’s program: Hold a bachelor’s degree and be under 35 years old.
  • For a Doctoral program: Hold a master’s degree and be under 40 years old.
  • Academic Performance: Exhibit excellent academic and professional records.
  • Exclusivity: Not receiving other scholarships from the Chinese government, local governments, or organizations.

How to apply

  • Visit the official CSC website the Chinese Government Scholarship details and check the application guidelines.
  • Complete the online application form, then download and print a signed copy for submission.
  • Go to the Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine (SHSMU) website to explore available Master’s and PhD programs in medicine and related fields.
  • Prepare all required documents and submit them to the International Student Education Center at SHSMU, making sure the envelope is clearly labeled “Application for Chinese Government Scholarship

Required documents

  • Complete the CSC Application Form
  • Notarized undergraduate diploma and degree certificate. (For Master’s Students) 
  • Notarized master’s degree certificate and diploma. (For Doctoral Students)
  • Transcript 
  • A study and research plan (minimum 800 words in English or Chinese).
  • Two recommendation letters from associate professors or equivalent professionals.
  • A list and abstracts of any published papers.
  • A copy of a valid passport.
  • The completed Foreigner Physical Examination Record.
