About this program

The Farrand Scholarship (International) is a testament to the University of Sydney's commitment to nurturing global talent. Established through the generous donation from the Estate of Annie Farrand, in memory of Annie Farrand and her mother Annie Elizabeth Farrand, this scholarship aims to bridge the gap for international students transferring to the University of Sydney from recognized partner institutions. Specifically, the scholarship targets students transitioning from science-related diploma programs to undergraduate Science degrees at the university.

Eligibility Criteria

The Farrand Scholarship (International) is designed with a specific cohort in mind—international students who have shown dedication and excellence in their academic pursuits but require support to continue their education in Australia. To be eligible, students must:

International Student Status: Candidates must be international students at the time of their application.

Unconditional Offer: Applicants must have received an unconditional offer to study full-time in an undergraduate Science degree at the University of Sydney. Articulation Pathway Arrangement: The scholarship is intended for students who are transferring from a science-related diploma program from an international institution that has an agreed articulation pathway arrangement with the University of Sydney.

Credit Points: Candidates should have earned fewer than 48 credit points from their previous studies to be eligible for this scholarship.

Benefits

For Selected Students:

The Farrand Scholarship (International) provides a substantial benefit of $5,000, which is applicable for one year of study. While the financial assistance is crucial, the scholarship also offers significant recognition for students' academic achievements and potential in the field of science. This recognition can serve as a powerful motivator, encouraging students to continue excelling in their studies and contributing to the global scientific community.
