About this program
The University of Queensland (UQ) is thrilled to announce the opening of applications for the 2025 UQ Firebirds Scholarship. This prestigious scholarship, supported by Queensland Firebirds and UQ Marketing and Communications, offers a one-time payment of $5,000 to up to four students who demonstrate a strong commitment to netball, whether through playing, coaching, or volunteering. Eligible students who have completed Year 12 and plan to start their undergraduate studies at UQ in 2025 are encouraged to apply before the 24 November 2024 deadline. Eligibility Criteria
You are eligible if you:
- Completed Year 12 in the year before the award is granted.
- Plan to enroll as a new student in any undergraduate coursework program during the award year.
- Can demonstrate participation in netball, either by playing for a school or club, or through coaching or volunteering within the last two years.
- Selection criteria
- UQ will consider:
- strength of interest demonstrated in your chosen program of study
- commitment to the netball community demonstrated financial need.
- Preference will be given to:
- Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Persons
- regional or remote students
- students who are first in their family to attend university
