About this Program
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the Taipei Tech Short-term Study program in Taiwan to encourage talented students from the Indo- Pacific region to study and experience Taiwan’s cultural diversity. Students enrolled in this program will attend courses in AI and semiconductors as well as Chinese language instruction from the Chinese Language Training Centre and National Taipei University of Technology. Students can further browse and find the course of the choice by considering their interest and educational background.
The Courses offered in AI field include Introduction and lectures, machine learning, big data and AI modern technologies. Semiconductor field includes courses related to IC Design and layout, Electronic materials, and fabrication technology of semiconductor devices. Chinese language course will cover pronunciation, conversation, and character reading and writing. During this fully-funded scholarship program, students will participate in various cultural activities through which they will get a chance to experience a new and diverse culture. Other than study courses, the program will include visits to famous high-tech companies and Science Park in Taiwan. CLTC will organize field trips for students to visit famous scenic spots in Taiwan.
The 2024 New Southbound Short-term Study Program for international students will cover all the costs of this course. There is no registration or tuition fees. Students will get a monthly stipend to cover their living expenses while their stay in Taiwan. A separate amount will be paid for accommodation while studying. Students will be paid for round trip air ticket and will also receive a stipend for students insurance for 5 months. A full subsidy will be given for courses, educational visits and field trips. So, this fully-funded short-term program is a great opportunity for you to study and enjoy your stay in Taiwan without any financial burden.
Eligibility
Applicants applying must:
- Be a sophomore, junior, or senior at a university in New Southbound Policy Countries.
- Not hold a passport from Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwan.
- Not have received any scholarship from the government or any agency in Taiwan previously.
- Be from Brunei, Nepal, Laos, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Australia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Singapore or Vietnam.
