About the program

NCTU International Student Scholarship 2026 are now open for applications, welcoming talented students from all around the world. These fully funded scholarship allow international students to pursue a Master’s or PhD degree at National Chiao Tong University.

Eligibility Criteria

Must be an international student (non-Taiwanese).
Must be healthy (medical/health check may be required).
Must not hold another competing scholarship concurrently.
Students with a master’s degree certificate are eligible to apply for doctoral degree.
Applicants holding bachelor’s degree can apply for Master’s degree
Candidates having high school degree certificate are eligible for undergraduate degree program

Benefits

1. Full Tuition Fee Waiver

Master’s & PhD students receive a complete tuition fee waiver — meaning you don’t pay tuition for your degree at NCTU.
For Bachelor’s applicants, tuition may also be waived depending on the scholarship structure.

2. Taiwan Government Scholarships:

In addition to the university scholarship, you may be eligible for Taiwan Government Scholarships, such as:

MOFA Scholarship (Ministry of Foreign Affairs):

USD $956 monthly stipend
One round-trip flight ticket back home

MOE Scholarship (Ministry of Education):

Tuition fee waiver
Support for eligible countries

3. Monthly stipend ( Living Support)

You’ll receive a monthly living allowance to help cover daily expenses such as food, transport, and accommodation:

Bachelor’s degree (USD $700)
Master’s degree (USD $733)
PhD (USD $966)

4. Research/Teaching Assistant Opportunities

Master’s & PhD students may also be offered assistantships by their academic supervisors.
This provides:

Additional stipends or salary for research/teaching work.
Practical research experience and professional development.
