About this Program
Inaugural Dean of Health Sciences at Swinburne, this Scholarship has been established to support and encourage a postgraduate student continuing their studies in Health Sciences. This scholarship will be awarded to a high-achieving postgraduate student, who has experienced disadvantage, to continue their education.
Courses Eligibility
Postgraduate degree offered by Swinburne University of Technology in one of the following disciplines:
- Dietetics
- Occupational Therapy
- Physiotherapy
Eligibility / selection criteria
To be eligible for the Inaugural Dean of Health Sciences, Professor Janet Hiller Scholarship, applicants must:
- Meet the following criteria:
- an Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa or New Zealand Citizen
- International student
- Meet the following enrolment criteria:
- be a commencing postgraduate Swinburne student in Semester 2, 2024.
- enrolled full-time in an eligible course (see courses eligible in section above)
- hold an undergraduate degree from Swinburne, preferably a Bachelor of Health Sciences but not essential
- Provide a personal statement of 500 words or less describing:
- benefit that receiving this scholarship will provide to you
- Provide evidence of low socio-economic status. This may include:
- financial difficulty or low income
- disability or medical condition
- delay or interruption to career or studies because of family responsibilities or illness
- relocation from a rural or regional area in order to undertake tertiary study
- English as a second language
- identification as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
- Provide Academic transcript of previous study
