About the program

Harvard Law School will offer the Reginald F. Lewis Fellowship, with an appointment expected to commence July 1, 2026. The Fellowship is designed to support a recent law graduate who has demonstrated a strong interest in legal scholarship and who is preparing for a career in law teaching.

Eligibility criteria

• Must have a J.D., LL.M., or S.J.D. (or equivalent professional law degree) at application time
• Recent law graduate actively pursuing a career in legal scholarship and teaching
• Preference given to candidates who will diversify the legal academy

Required documents

• A comprehensive résumé or CV
• A detailed research project description 
• A statement of interest in legal scholarship and teaching 
• Official transcripts from all law study
• Two letters of reference attesting to your potential as a legal scholar and educator
