Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for a CSC scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:
Citizenship and Background
- You must be a non-Chinese citizen with a strong moral character and a history of academic excellence.
- You must be in good health, both physically and mentally.
Age
- Applicants for general scholarships must be under 45 years old at the time of application.
- Applicants for senior scholar programs must be under 50 years old at the time of application.
Current Status
- You must be enrolled as a full-time student or employed as a full-time academic staff member at one of the CSC's partner universities (listed here) at the time of application and throughout your planned stay in China.
University Acceptance
- You must have received either a pre-admission letter or an official invitation letter from the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT)
Application Procedure
What to Submit
- Valid Passport: A clear scanned copy of your ordinary passport.
- Education Proof: A current letter from your foreign university (enrollment or employment).
- Academic Records: Transcripts of your highest education level.
- Study Plan: A personal statement or research proposal (at least 500 words) in English or Chinese.
Additional Requirements (Long Stays)
- Health Check: A completed Foreigner Physical Examination Form (English/Chinese) if staying over six months. Alternatively, a personal health statement for shorter stays.
- Background Check: A non-criminal record report from your current residency's public authority (if staying over six months). Alternatively, a non-criminal record statement for shorter stays.
