About this Program

Japanese learning and cultural immersion program are being offered by The AYFN Academy in collaboration with a local group, with the aim of broadening foreign visitors’ awareness of Japan. To improve the Japanese experience, the program incorporates daily activities and cultural outing. International participants are welcome, regardless of their degree of Japanese language proficiency. We will use English as main communication tool. Our goal is to instill in the next generation an appreciation for language acquisition while also encouraging them to be open-minded toward different cultures. We want the participants to return from their trip with a deeper understanding of Japan and a solid foundation in the language, as well as with amazing and unforgettable experiences.

Japan Culture Camp by AYFN is a cultural learning program designed to give an understanding on culture and social awareness since 2015. This program enables participants to learn about Japanese culture in line with making a friend directly. This program is also an avenue to enhance knowledge and skill to face globalization. This is not student exchange, but youth and cultural exchange exposure program.

Eligibility

  • Age: 17 – 35 Years old
  • All nationalities are welcomed to apply.
  • Be able to communicate in English.
  • Commit to join full program and be ready to return home after the program ends.
  • Be able to adapt new environment easily.
  • Health physically and mentally.
  • Have an interest in Japanese Culture.
  • Have an interest in writing and videography
  • Close to social media.

Benefits

For selected individuals:

  • Live for 6 days in Tokyo, Japan.
  • Pre-departure Japanese language class (Online class)
  • Learn and understand Japanese culture directly by visiting cultural sites in Tokyo
  • Heritage walking tour around Tokyo (Asakusa, Meiji Shrine, etc).
  • Familiarization with local tradition (Food, lifestyle, Cultural activities).
  • Experimental learning.
  • E-Certificate of participation from AYFN.

Activities

  • Cultural activities in Tokyo (Kimono experience).
  • Visit interesting places in Tokyo, e.g Senso-ji Temple, Asakusa-jinja Shrine, Meiji Temple, Harajuku, Ueno Park, Shibuya.
  • Taste authentic Japanese cuisine (sushi, udon, sashimi, ramen, etc)
  • Mount Fuji Sightseeing
  • Explore the Disneyland Tokyo
  • Walk around the bustling city of Tokyo.

How does the program will work?

  • Participants will be met up in Tokyo, Japan. You will meet new friends from different country (International friendship).
  • The program will combine sense of friendship, adventure and cultural understanding.
  • Participants will live for 6 days in Tokyo, Japan.
  • The program invites participants who passionate in international friendship and adapt new environment (culture differences) easily.

Location of Japan Culture Camp

This camp will take place in Tokyo. Participants will have the unique opportunity to experience Tokyo—the historic capital of Japan, replete with its temples, shrines and traditional gardens. It is our hope that the program will inspire youth to pursue adventurous and productive careers and contribute to the advancement of science.

Accommodation and Meal

During this camp, participants will be accommodated in a safe and comfortable accommodations. The accommodation id a popular and a very sociable option as you get to live and socialize with other participants, 1 – 2 people in a room. Living conditions in the hotel is very good and very clean. Males and females are accommodated in separate room.

Japan is renowned for its tasty and healthy food. There are numerous amazing restaurants throughout Tokyo which you will be directed to by program staff if you wish to eat out occasionally.
