About this Program
This Scholarship focus on Agriculture and Horticulture – student exchange and overseas travel. And to encourage New Zealand agriculture and horticulture students to experience aspects of their discipline area within an overseas culture.
Eligibility
Applicants must be:
• enrolled in a postgraduate or undergraduate course in agriculture or horticulture.
• eligible to participate in overseas study and/or student exchange as part of their programme.
Selection
Scholarships are automatically applied for upon application to the University (where other eligibility criteria are met).
- Students will receive notification of the scholarship value in the Letter of Offer.
- Should an applicant wish to reject this offer of scholarship, it is the recipient’s responsibility to inform the University.
- Scholarship offers will be made based on academic merit. All determinations of academic merit are aligned to the University’s published entry and eligibility processes and made at the discretion of the University.
- The University reserves the right not to award the scholarship.
- The University reserves the right to withdraw or amend the offer of scholarship if the applicant is subsequently deemed to be ineligible, the applicant is in breach of the terms of the scholarship offer or the scholarship is no longer offered.
Conditions of the Scholarship
- A single payment of the scholarship will occur 3 weeks prior to departure to the overseas destination on presentation of air tickets and itinerary to the chair of the Applied Academic Programmes Scholarships Committee for recipients with future travel dates.
- Undergraduate students who intend to undertake an overseas exchange in semester 2 of the year of scholarship application are expected to have registered their intention to participate with the Office of Global Engagement prior to applying for this scholarship.
- Undergraduate students who are undertaking an overseas exchange in semester 1 of the year of scholarship application are welcome to apply after the commencement of their exchange programme, on the understanding that the selection and award of the scholarship will be at the discretion of the panel.
- The University Scholarships Selection Committee have the right to refrain from making an award if there are no suitable applicants and their decision is final.
- In recommending the award of the scholarship the Applied Academic Programmes Scholarships Committee, College of Sciences, will take account of other scholarships held.
