What is the Chevening Scholarship?

Chevening is the UK Government’s international awards scheme aimed at developing global leaders. Funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organizations, Chevening offers two types of award – Chevening Scholarships and Chevening Fellowships – the recipients of which are personally selected by the British embassies and high commissions throughout the world. Chevening offers a unique opportunity for future leaders and influencers from all over the world to develop professionally and academically, network extensively, experience UK culture, and build lasting positive relationships with the UK.

 

What are the benefits provided?

  • Full tuition-fees
  • Airfare coverage
  • Allowance for departure, accommodation, travel top up and living expenses
  • Visa application Coverage
  • A contribution of up to USD 98 for TB testing

 

What are the eligibilities?

  • Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country
  • Have the commitment to return to your home country
  • Have an undergraduate degree
  • Have at least two years’ work experience
  • Apply to three different eligible UK university courses
  • Chevening English language requirement 

 

What are the required documents?

  • Taking an English language test
  • Claiming an exemption based on the UKVI exempt categories Chevening accepts
  • English language tests from five providers:
    1. Academic IELTS
    2. Pearson PTE Academic
    3. TOEFL iBT
    4. Cambridge English; Advanced (CEA)
    5. Trinity ISE II (B2)

Applications for Chevening Scholarships can only be submitted using the Chevening online application system.
