Switzerland, a landlocked country in the center of Europe that is associated with the terms “Heaven on Earth” or “Paradise on Earth across the media outlets. From the quality of life to the natural beauty and the multi-cultural influence of the country, it is not misleading to use these terms. In this article, we will deep down to a few persuasive reasons why Switzerland is fair to be known as “Heaven on Earth”.  

 

Quality of life 

Switzerland has a good reputation for being safe, efficient, and clean. Switzerland dominates the ranking of the Mercer’s Quality of Living City 2019 with three cities ranked as the top 10: Zurich as the 2nd, Geneva as the 9th, and Basel as the 10th. Switzerland ranks well in terms of well-being, jobs and earnings, income and wealth, health status, social connections, environmental quality, education and skills, work-life balance, housing, and personal security according to the OECD Better Life Index. 

 

Natural beauty 

With a variety of natural wonders to explore, Switzerland is also famous for its wonderful natural beauty. Switzerland is the home to numerous UNESCO World Heritage Sites including Abbey of St Gall, Benedictine Convent of St John at Müstair, Vineyard Terraces, Old City of Berne, Monte San Giorgio, Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch, Swiss Tectonic Arena Sardona, and many more. Besides this, others include the Rhine Fall, Aletsch Glacier and many more are spectacular scenes to explore.  

 

Chocolate & Cheese

A journey in Switzerland without chocolate and cheese would not be a complete one. Switzerland is the hometown of much delicious chocolate. There is even a chocolate-themed tour around Switzerland to take you to a various chocolate factory. Swiss cheese is one of the top-class cheese in the world. One of the top ingredients in Swiss dishes, statistically, Swiss eat around 22 kg of cheese per year per person. If you are a chocolate lover or cheese lover, Switzerland is certainly one of your type of paradise.
