About the program

The University of Minnesota Global Excellence Scholarships 2026 are open for international undergraduate students, offering partial to full tuition coverage for up to four years. Established in 1851, the University of Minnesota is recognized as a Public Ivy and ranks #203 globally (QS 2025). This prestigious award provides strong financial support for talented students pursuing their bachelor’s degree at the Twin Cities campus.

Eligibility criteria

  • Should be an international student.
  • Been accepted into a University of Minnesota undergraduate program.
  • The University offers scholarships for all of its undergraduate programs.
  • Choice based on higher academic achievement.
  • Have must be enrolled full-time in the scholarship semester’s Honours program.
  • Demonstrated remarkable abilities for personal accomplishment, such as emotional maturity, motivation, and persistence.
  • Present your GSE results and/or high school transcript (if not in English, please provide a certified translation).
  • Hold a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
  • Extremely responsible, driven, and capable of working on their own in an organized setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Must be the recipient of an offer to enroll full-time at the University of Minnesota in the United States.

How to apply

  • Apply to the University of Minnesota for an undergraduate degree.
  • Make sure all of the required documentation, such as high school transcripts and test results from standardized assessments, are included in your application.
  • A separate scholarship application is not required. Based on their admissions application, all international students are automatically considered for the Global Excellence Scholarships.
  • Provide your GSE results and/or a transcript from high school. Verify the translation if your transcript is not in English.
  • Send in any additional documents needed for your admissions application.
