About the program
The Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP) is based on the respective Joint Statements issued in January 1974 between Japan and the Republic of Indonesia, Malaysia, the Republic of the Philippines, the Republic of Singapore, and the Kingdom of Thailand. The program aims to foster friendship and understanding among youth from Southeast Asia and Japan. Participants will engage in various activities, including discussions on social and youth matters, cultural exchanges, and community service. They will also have the chance to interact with local youth in each port of call.
Eligibility Criteria
- 18 to 30 years old
- Those who were able to participate throughout the Program.
- Those having a good command of English
- Those who were sound in mind and body, cooperative, disciplined, and able to work in groups in accordance with the program schedule.
- Those who were cooperative and adaptable to an orderly group life in accordance with the Program schedule.
- Those who had an interest and good understanding in the participating countries.
