About this Program

Suffolk University has a proud tradition of welcoming international students to our dynamic, culturally diverse campus in the heart of Boston. Suffolk University encourages all international students through varies of merit scholarships enabling them to join the Boston community and discover an entire world of new directions and opportunities for their future.

Eligibility

To be eligible, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be of international student status.
  • Be a student who’s regularly involved in extracurricular activities.
  • Be a student who’s identified to have enrolled into the university’s undergraduate program full-time.
  • Acquire a minimum TOEFL score of 79.
  • Acquire a minimum IELTS score of 6.5.
  • Acquire a minimum DUOLINGO English Test-DET score of 105.
  • Acquire either an SAT/ACT or IGCSE/GCSE, AS/A-Level and International Baccalaureate (IB) Exam.

Scholarship Benefits

For selected students:

This scholarship provides a contribution to tuition fees of up to $10,000 reduction.

  • Essay/personal statement
  • Certificate of Finances 
  • Bank statement
  • Copy of passport
  • Official high school transcript* or GED/HiSET results
  • Letter of recommendation
  • Official College/University Transcripts
  • Proof of English Proficiency

Specific Documents for Art & Design Applicants

  • Your portfolio should consist of 12-15 examples of recent, original, finished work:
  • Pieces showing skill in observational drawing/painting (still life studies, self-portraits, figure studies)
  • You may also include abstract and design-based pieces in drawing, paint or collage.
  • Work that demonstrates a range of media and techniques
  • Do not include anime, manga-based work, or pieces copied directly from photographs.
  • Limit the number of computer-generated pieces.
