About the program

The High Point University Scholarships 2026 support international undergraduates with awards based on academic excellence, leadership, and community involvement. No separate application is needed—your admission application doubles as your scholarship application. Founded in 1924, HPU is a top U.S. private university, ranked #1 Best-Run College by Princeton Review (2025). The Presidential Scholars Program honors outstanding freshmen for their achievements and character.

Eligibility criteria

The Presidential Scholars Program, HPU’s most distinguished program, is intended for incoming freshmen who demonstrate distinction in all areas—academics, leadership, and character.
No additional essays: Your admissions file is all you need.
In your application, emphasize your leadership positions, community service, and extracurricular activities.
Applicants must be ready to share their narrative, their vision, and how they will benefit the HPU community if they are invited to the Presidential Scholars weekends.
Maintain your GPA: Renewing a scholarship requires continuing to do well academically after admission.

Benefits

For selected individual:

The Presidential Founders Scholarship offers up to $40,000 or full tuition for students with an average GPA of 4.0, SAT of 1550, ACT of 34, and ranking in the top 5% of their class.
Presidential Fellowships range from $12,000 to $20,000 per year for students with Average GPA: 3.8, SAT: 1363, ACT: 29, Top 10% of class.
Presidential scholarships range from $10,000 to $17,000 every year for students with an average GPA of 3.58, SAT of 1235, and ACT of 25.
High Point Scholarships range from $5,000 to $10,000 per year for students with an average GPA of 3.26, SAT of 1157, and ACT of 23.
