About the program
The program offers a residency at the Getty Research Institute to support scholars and artists in their research. Fellows have access to the Getty's extensive collections and resources and can participate in weekly lectures and community activities.
Eligibility criteria
- Applicants can be of any nationality.
- Predoctoral Fellowship: Applicants must be in their doctoral program and have advanced to candidacy by the application deadline, with the expectation of finishing their dissertation during the fellowship.
- Postdoctoral Fellowship: Applicants must have received their doctoral degree within the past five years (after September 1, 2021, for the 2026-27 fellowship).
- Those who received their PhD more than five years ago should apply for a Scholar Grant instead.
