Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the 2025 BLCU Chinese Government Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

•  Educational Background and Age:

1. Master’s Programs: Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree and be under 35 years old.
2. Doctoral Programs: Applicants should hold a master’s degree and be under 40 years old.

• Exclusive Scholarship: Cannot be combined with other Chinese Government Scholarships.

Application Procedure

Step-by-Step Application Procedure

• Application Period: October 28, 2024 – February 23, 2025

1. Create an Account:

• Log in to the CGS Information Management System, select Scholarship Type B, and use BLCU's Agency Number: 10032.

2. Complete BLCU Application:

• Access the BLCU Online Application System and fill out all required information.
• Upload Documents: Submit all necessary documents (see below) to both systems before the deadline.
• Application Review: BLCU will verify documents and conduct interviews for shortlisted candidates.
• Final Evaluation: Successful candidates will be recommended to the China Scholarship Council for approval.
• Notification: Check your status via your personal account on BLCU's portal or the China Scholarship Council website.

3. Documents Required for Application

Ensure all documents are clear, authentic, and translated into Chinese or English if originally in another language. Here's the checklist:

• Scholarship Application Form (download from the CGS portal).
• Passport Copy (valid through at least March 2026).
• Notarized Highest Diploma or proof of current enrollment.
• Academic Transcripts from undergraduate and graduate studies.
• Language Proficiency Proof (HSK, IELTS, TOEFL scores valid for 2 years).
• Study Plan (minimum of 1,000 words, signed by the supervisor for doctoral applications).
• Recommendation Letters from two professors or associate professors.
• Supervisor Pre-admission Letter (for doctoral candidates).
• Art Samples (if applying for art or design programs).
• Physical Examination Form (valid for 6 months).
• Non-Criminal Record Report issued within 6 months of application submission.
• Application Fee Receipt (800 RMB, paid online or via telegraphic transfer).
