About the Scholarship

JDS Project aims at supporting human resource development of Cambodia by targeting highly capable young government officials and others who are expected to engage in formulating and implementing social and economic development plans and become leaders after completing master program in Japan.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicant must:

• Be a citizen of Cambodia
• Be between 22 and 39 years old as of April 1, 2024
• Be a holder of bachelor’s degree
• Be civil servant currently employed by a Target Organization
• Have at least 2-year full time work experience in the Target Organization as of the application closing date
  1. Probation period can be included in the 2 years
  2. Contract staff period cannot be included in the 2 years
  3. Part time and volunteer work cannot be counted as the work experience
• Have sufficient English language proficiency
• Be in good physical and mental conditions

Scholarship Benefits

JDS Scholarship is offered for the minimum period necessary for the scholars to complete the academic program specified by the Japanese education institution, including any preparatory training. Scholarship recipients will receive the following benefits:

• Travel expenses (to go / return from) Japan
• Full tuition fees
• Monthly scholarship
• Arrival allowance
• Housing allowance
• Allowances for purchasing books and shipping material
• Traveling and seminar allowances
• Overseas travel insurance

Study Component

JDS has 3 sub-program (priority areas) and the following 9 components (development issues = field of Study). Those who belong to designate target organizations and meet the application requirements are eligible to apply for any one of the components

How to Apply

• Download and refer to application Guideline 2023 for details
• Participate in seminars held by JICE, or view the video tutorials (if you have difficulty in participating in the seminars)
• Submit one set of the application documents (AND Excel Application Form) to JICE JDS project office by the deadline at 3 p.m. on November 23, 2023
