About the Scholarship
Global Korea Scholarship is designed for provide international students with opportunities to study at higher educational institutions in Korea in pursuit of academic degrees, which will enhance international education exchange and deepen mutual friendship between Korea and participating countries.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicant must
- Hold citizenship of NIIED designated countries that are invited to take part in the GKS program
- Bachelor’s degree program is for applicants who graduated (or are expected to graduate) form high school or from an associate degree program
- Associate degree program is for applicants who graduated (or are expected to graduate) form a high school
- Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of the entire curriculum from the previous degree program must meet one of the two conditions below
- Score percentile should be 80% or above on a 100-point scale or be ranked within the top 20% within one’s class
- CGPA must be equal to or above 2.64/4.0, 2.80/4.3, 2.91/4.5 or 3.23/5.0
- Be under 25 years of age
- Have no grounds for disqualification (e.g, Criminal history) for overseas travel
- Be in good health, both mentally and physically, to study in Korea for the full duration of the program
- Check additional restrictions or eligibility set by each degree university
- Please check if there is any additional eligibility or any specific enrollment period set by each university/department
Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship will cover airfare, settlement allowance (200,000 KRW), monthly allowance (900,000KRW/month), Korean proficiency grants (100,000 KRW/month), medical insurance, language training fee and tuition fee (up to 5 million KRW).

Selection
There are three rounds of selection:
1st round: Selection by Korean Embassy
2nd round: NIIED Selection
3rd round: University Selection
How to Apply
Applicant must drop their application at Korean Embassy security office. You can't submit documents by email, please visit the embassy.
