About Scholarship Program

Global Korea Scholarship is designed to provide international students with opportunities to study at higher educational institutions in Korea in pursuit of academic degrees, which will enhance international education exchange and deepen mutual friendship between Korea and participating countries.

In 2023, Korean Government’s Global Korea Scholarship program aims to invite international students who wish to purse Graduate degrees in Korea.

Quota for embassy track Cambodia: 10 students

Eligibility

  • Be Cambodian citizen with under40 years of age; and under 45 years of age for academic professors in one of the Official Development Assistance.
  • Must obtain minimum qualifications as listed below
    - Hold minimum Bachelor’s Degree for Master’s program
    - Hold minimum Master’s Degree for Doctoral program
    - Hold minimum Doctoral Degree for Research Post-Doc program
    - Must be currently teaching at a university as a professor with minimum Master’s degree for Exchange Professor program
     - Must be a professional in a field of Education, Science, Culture, or International Cooperation professor with minimum Master’s degree for Exchange Professor program for Program for Education, Science, Culture, or International Cooperation Professionals.
  • Obtain minimum CGPA as listed below
    - Score percentile should be 80% or above on a 100-point scale or be ranked in the top 20% of one’s class
     - CGPA must be equal to or above 2.64/4.0, 2.80/4.3, 2.91/4.5 or 3.23/5.0
  • Must be in good health, both mentally and physically, to study in Korea for the full duration of the program.
  • Must meet eligibility for Teaching Professional Program (for application of Teaching Professional Program).
  • Must not be the previous scholarship recipient for a degree program from the Korean government.

Requirement

  • Complete all required forms from GKS Scholarship
  • Applicant's/Parent(s)' Proof of Citizenship and family relationship Document
  • Degree certificate
  • Degree transcript
  • Certificate of Employment (only applicable for E.S.C.I. professionals under research program)
  • Score report of valid TOPIK (original) or English Proficiency Test (copy)
  • Awards and other certificates, etc. (copy)
  • Applicant’s Passport (copy)

Scholarship Benefits

  • Tuition fee coverage for NIIED: up to 5 million KRW
  • Round trip airfare
  • Settlement Allowance 200,000 KRW (once)
  • Monthly Allowance (Mater's /Doctoral) 1 million KRW (Research) 1,500,000 KRW
  • Medical Insurance 
  • Korean Proficiency Grants 100,000 KRW /month
  • Research Support Fee (L.S.) 210,000 KRW (N.S.&E.) 240,000 KRW
  • Language Training Fee for NIIED: 1 million KRW University: amount that exceeds 1 million KRW

How to Apply

  • All documents must be submitted in English or Korean at Korean Embassy
  • Each embassy/university may add or simplify documentation requirements at their own discretion*
