Being lonely and being alone have different meanings. Being lonely is when you are or not around people but still feel a void inside. However, being alone is being by yourself but that doesn’t mean you need someone to make you feel complete. Being alone can be self-fulfilling and you can also discover yourself in the time being. Also, New Year is quickly approaching, some of us may or may not have plans for the occasion. For those who don’t, we’ve got you covered. So buckle up and prepare for the ride!

These are the things you can do during the New Year:

Binge-watch your favorite TV shows or movies

The holiday is the time when we are free to explore what we’ve always wanted to do but have no time. So this New Year is the perfect time to indulge in this activity. What another way to enjoy if not watch your favorite anime or catch up with GOT.

Read novels or manga or go to the library

For some of us bookworms, reading is the most beautiful and cozy moment of our lives. To get inside the life of our main characters, to cry when they cry, and to be happy when they’re happy. Reading can help us relieve our stress and at the same time enables us to be creative and gain more knowledge. Moreover, going to the library is the best way to reflect on our self because it’s quiet and at the same time, we can gain more knowledge from reading books available there.

Play games

This is the time to be guilt-free and enjoy entertainment for its purpose. Video games can enhance our skills in problem-solving, memory, improve our brain’s speed, and also improve our concentration. But all the time, we play games because we love them. That is because it’s fun and entertaining.

Sleep

Another better way to reward yourself is to catch up with your sleep. Being sleep deprived is like walking and going around like a zombie. That is not an attractive notion. Moreover, sleep deprivation can lead to depression, sleep apnea, high blood pressure, and stroke. So sleep is definitely the best possibility, but just make sure you don’t oversleep.

Enjoy with music

Most of us like to listen to music, sing karaoke, or dance silly by ourselves. You can do anything as long as you enjoy doing it. Music can help us release our stress, lessen anxiety, improve our memory (cognition), and improve our mood.

Complete your assignments

So for most of us in university, the assignment is a hot topic. It’s our worst enemy that we keep on meeting. The word that associates well with assignments would be procrastination. We learn to procrastinate smartly these days. Procrastinating smartly means doing research, re-correcting our work, and waiting until the deadline to submit. During this holiday, we can finally work and prepare.

Meet up with friends

If our friends are staying at home like us then just invite them to hang out at the mall or coffee shop to catch up. For most of us, we don’t meet up with our close friends often due to enrolling in different schools then this is the perfect time to catch up.

Eat and Drink

You actually don’t need an occasion to indulge in your favorite snacks or drinks. But take this chance to pamper yourself with food and a full tummy. In addition, there are many coffee shops available so choose one based on your preference.

Go exercise

Take the previous point as a motivation, after consuming calories of junk food, exercise is the best method to burn it. Moreover, you can go to play other sports like basketball, football, swimming, or badminton to relieve stress. For people who have pets, taking our pets especially dogs for a walk can be a form of exercise and help us enjoy ourselves with our pets.

Spend time with family

Once in a while, eating out with our family can help us catch up with the rest of our family members and enjoy laughing together. We can also take this time to strengthen our bond.

Plan your New Year Resolution

As it is slowly approaching, it’s better to be prepared. Plan your goals ahead and don’t just plan, strive to achieve them. Hopefully, a New Year would be an upgraded version of you.

Entering a new year with a plan sounds like a task for responsible people. So let’s all be a responsible person. And Happy New Year!
