Description

This scholarship is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science as well as several Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences. 

Benefits

The scholarship amounts to € 5,000. You will receive this in the first year of your studies. Please note that this is not a full-tuition scholarship. 

Eligibilities

You are not an EU/EEA, Swiss or Surinamese passport holder. 

You are not eligible for support from the Dutch study finance system. 

You have never studied at a Dutch university or a Dutch university of applied sciences.  

You have completed your pre-university education outside The Netherlands.  

How to Apply 

Compose a letter of motivation (max. 500 words) specifically for the Holland Scholarship. In your letter, explain why you are a talented student, taking into account both your academic achievements and relevant extra-curricular activities (e.g. voluntary work). 

Note: there is no need to describe your financial situation, as financial need is not a selection criterion for the Holland Scholarship. 

Before 1 February, submit an online application for admission for one of the above-mentioned Bachelor’s programs at Leiden University. 

Indicate in your online application that you are applying for the Holland Scholarship and upload your scholarship motivation letter where indicated.
